South Central Counseling Group (SCCG) is comprised of clinicians who provide mental health services to individuals, couples, and families in Charlottesville, VA and surrounding areas. We strive to provide compassionate and quality care in helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, substance abuse, and a variety of adjustments related to individual or family life stages. We offer in person and telehealth counseling.
Please note that SCCG values the accessibility of mental health treatment for all who seek it. We also take great pride in the professional development of clinicians with different levels of experience and educational milestones. As such, we offer a reduced fee to work with a non licensed therapist in training under the supervision of a licensed therapist. We accept the following private insurances: Anthem, Optima, and Aetna. We also accept direct payment, Medicaid, Medicare, and CSA funding.
SCCG also acknowledges the ongoing systemic racial injustice and violence that occurs against people of color in our country every day. As mental health counselors, we strive to further our understanding of the effects of racial trauma and oppression, dismantle systems that are responsible for it, and contribute to the healing of communities affected by it. We realize that racial equity is an ongoing practice and are committed to the process of becoming a multicultural and anti-racist organization. This involves the overdue individual and collective reflection and anti-racism training to realize our mission and values in this way.
